Optical Drive's Ultimate Damage

Do you know that inserting a crack cd/dvd can cause a disaster on your optical drive?

My office-mate ask me a favor to make a copy of a disk, I already noticed that the disk has a 1 cm crack in the middle. I inserted it to my dvd-rw drive to make an exact copy of its contents. While waiting, I just heard a blast sound, it seems that the cd on the drive is broken, when i check the drive, it won't open. The only way to get the crack cd is to force it to open, I dismounted the drive and dismantle its cover to remove the broken parts of the cd.

This is what happened to the cd and my dvd drive.

I hope this warns you not to insert a crack cd/dvd to your computer's optical drive.
