Add Additional Speed to Your Windows 7 PC by disabling Search Indexing feature.

Some of you might not know that there are some techniques on adding speed to your windows 7 PC, here is one of the techniques that I know. Adding speed by disabling the search indexing feature.

The Search Indexing Service keeps track of the files so that they can be found quickly when asked at some other time. But It unknowingly eats up your system resources.

This feature is useful only if you perform frequent searches on your system.
I know that most of us doesn't use the search feature in Windows 7
So here are a quick steps to disable it.

  • Right Click the “Computer” Icon in the desktop and select "Manage".
  • Click "Services and Applications".
  • Click on “Services”.
  • Find "Windows Search".
  • Right Click on "Windows Search" and choose “Properties”.
  • The “Windows Search Properties Window” will open up.
  • Click on the drop down menu and choose “Disabled”.
  • Click “Apply” then “OK” and the Windows 7 Search Indexing Feature is now disabled.
  • To check; click Start Button, type "search index", then click "Indexing Options".

That’s it. But Warning!
Some programs might be affected. For effective application use this technique on your gaming PC only.
